Why source materials from the Garment District?

The decline in domestic manufacturing has been a major problem for New York's Garment District. Overseas labor incentives have taken a serious toll on the neighborhood and the City has reacted aggressively with zoning protections and controlled rents for the garment manufacturers within this 1 square mile area of Manhattan's midtown.

Dozens of suppliers continue to weather the storm, out of place in a neighborhood now home to more chain stores than fabric suppliers. We are proud to source every tool, hide, rivet, and roll of fabric from the family-run stores that keep this unique and iconic neighborhood going strong.
